A Bold Blue Ensuite Bathroom Designed for Kids (That Still Feels Elevated) | Davidson, NC
If you’ve been searching “kids bathroom remodel ideas that will grow with them” or “blue tile bathroom design that feels timeless”, this Davidson, NC ensuite is a perfect example of how to balance personality with longevity.
As part of our full renovation converting a Jack and Jill layout into two private ensuites, this bathroom was designed specifically with kids in mind and without sacrificing style.
A Bathroom That Feels Stylish, But Not Temporary
Designing for kids can easily lean too theme-heavy or overly trendy. The goal here was different: create a space that feels playful now, but still works beautifully years down the road.
The result is a bathroom that feels bold, clean, and thoughtfully layered.
Design Highlights: Rich Color + Classic Foundations
Deep Blue Statement Tile: The shower and tub surround are wrapped in a rich, moody blue tile that instantly draws you in. The varied layout gives it a custom, almost handcrafted feel—adding movement and texture without overwhelming the space.
Classic Black + White Penny Tile Flooring: Grounding the bold walls is a timeless black and white penny tile floor. It’s durable, forgiving, and brings just enough pattern to keep things interesting while staying classic.
Glass Shower Enclosure for an Open Feel: Keeping the shower visually open allows the tile to be the focal point and makes the bathroom feel larger- an important detail in secondary bathrooms.
Why This Works So Well for a Kids’ Ensuite
This bathroom hits that sweet spot between practical and polished:
- Durable materials that handle daily use
- A bold color choice that still feels timeless
- Easy-to-clean surfaces (a win for parents)
- A design that can transition seamlessly into a teen or guest bathroom
It’s proof that “kid-friendly” doesn’t have to mean compromising on design.
Designing Bathrooms That Grow With Your Family
In homes around Davidson and the Lake Norman area, we’re seeing more families prioritize private ensuites for kids. Not just for convenience, but for long-term livability and value.
This project is a great example of how thoughtful design + smart layout changes can completely transform the way a home functions.
This is exactly the kind of space that delivers on all of it.
