Beyond Function: A Guide to The Different Types of Bathroom Faucets

Bathroom faucets are more than just functional fixtures; they are essential elements that contribute to the overall aesthetics and functionality of your bathroom. With a plethora of styles and designs available in the market, choosing the right faucet is an important part of your renovation plan. We’ll break down the most popular faucet options and share our favorite!
SINGLE HANDLE FAUCETS
The streamlined, clean, and simple appearance of single handle faucets makes them a popular and versatile choice. It has one handle that controls both the hot and cold water, making it easy to use and install.
DOUBLE HANDLE/CENTERSET FAUCETS
Double handle faucets
are a compact and space-saving option that have separate handles for hot and cold water. This classic design offers precise control over water temperature. Ideal for traditional or vintage-themed bathrooms, double handle faucets come in a wide range of styles, from classic to ornate. We find this style to be the most difficult to keep clean/free of water spots due to all the nooks and crannies.
WIDESPREAD FAUCETS
Widespread faucets consist of three separate components: two handles and a spout. These components are spaced out, providing a more customizable installation. With a broader footprint, widespread faucets are often chosen for larger bathroom sinks and countertops. Multiple cut holes are required for this option, potentially adding to the cost of the countertop fabrication costs.

WALL MOUNTED FAUCETS
Wall-mounted faucets are mounted on the wall rather than the countertop, creating a unique and modern look. This type of faucet is ideal for vessel sinks and designer bathrooms. They make cleaning a breeze since there’s no fixtures on the countertop for water to pool around. Wall-mounted faucets can be single or double handle, offering flexibility in both design and functionality. These are more costly to install from a labor standpoint, but are by far our designer’s favorite fixture. This unique feature puts a custom touch on any bathroom renovation.

Choosing the right bathroom faucet involves considering both style and functionality. Whether you opt for a classic double handle faucet,  the modern convenience of a single handle design, or an unique appeal of a wall-mounted option, there are plenty of choices to suit your preferences. Keep in mind the overall aesthetic of your bathroom and the specific requirements of your sink when selecting the perfect faucet to elevate your bathroom’s design and functionality.
